How to set up OptinSkin to work with your FeedBlitz

Last Updated: Feb 10, 2014 03:57PM EST

Before getting started, make sure you have already installed and activated the Optinskin plugin in your Wordpress blog.

Now you'll need to log into your FeedBlitz account.

Open a notepad and keep it where you can see it.

Go to your FeedBlitz site and choose the newsletter you would like to create the Optinskin for, click form code, then copy the HTML provided, paste it into your notepad for safekeeping.

Returning to your Wordpress dashboard, hover over Optinskin, click "Add New."
First you'll add your form name and purpose.
**Skip the form design changes for the moment.**

Scroll down to Optin form settings and choose the custom service.
Now switch back over to your notepad and look for method="POST" action=, you'll need to copy ONLY the URL that is inbetween the quotation marks.

Paste that into the Form Action box.
Make sure Email name-value is set to EMAIL and skip the Name name-value for the moment.
  • Pay close attention to the "Hidden Fields" and in the first one type in Email_  leave the value blank.
  • In the next hidden field type in EMAIL_ADDRESS and leave the value blank.
  • In field three, you're going to type in FEEDID and enter your FeedBlitz Feed ID in the value box.  You can find the Feed ID in your notepad file, by looking in the code for "FEEDID" and the "value" is your feed ID.
  • In field 4, you'll enter PUBLISHER - and just like with the feed ID, you'll refer back to the notepad and look for "PUBLISHER" and input the "value" into the value field.

Scroll down and "Create this skin".

Now you'll copy and paste the shortcode into your post's code.
