How to Send a Single Mailing Campaign

Ready to send an email? Awesome! This post will walk you through the steps on how to send a Single Mailing Campaign in FeedBlitz. If you'd rather watch a video of this walk through, we've got you covered. Check out Send a Single Mailing Campaign on our Support channel.

Key Steps Steps in Sending a Single Mailing:

1. Select the Campaign
2. Shape your Audience and Settings
3. Choose your Content
4. Edit your Template
5. Review + Send or Schedule your mailing

Now let's get started.

1. Select the Campaign

From your FeedBlitz dashboard, you'll find two places to create a new email campaign. The first place is under Campaigns - New Campaign, and the second option is to select the site you'd like to work with from your dashboard and press New Campaign.

Both lead you to the same page, listing the three main types of email campaigns you can create.

  • Automated mailings are linked to your RSS feed and automatically send new posts from your blog, website or store based on a schedule you set.
  • Single mailings are individual email campaigns you send out such as newsletters, service updates, product announcements, and so on.
  • Funnels are pre-determined content sent to your subscribers based on their preferences and actions through a process called email automation.

For this post, we're going to walk you through creating a new Single Mailing.

2. Shape your Audience and Settings

Your first step is selecting the list you’d like to work with:

If you have multiple mailing lists, you'll be able to add additional lists as well. You can also narrow down and shape your mailing based on engagement filters, segments or groups.

Next Step will then take you to edit your, envelope settings, adjust tracking if you’d like, and add tags for future sorting and segmentation, before continuing on to edit your Content.

3. Choose your Content

When it comes to content, you can begin with a blank email or pull recent posts from your RSS feed to add into your single mailing for a curated mailing. (This is a popular option for someone interested in sending out Weekly Recap newsletters or Monthly Highlights.) We'll start from scratch on this email.

4. Edit your Template

Start with one of your saved templates, work with one of our ready-made templates, or work from a previous mailing below.

We'll select the 1-Column Newsletter blank template to get started.

Entering our drag and drop, Visual Mailing Editor, the VME, you have total control over the colors, design, content and settings of your email. Your work automatically saves itself as you edit and make changes.

When you're ready to work in the VME, be sure to be sure to check out the guided quick tour that's in the bottom right corner for more tips.

Once you have things in place, you can preview this email on desktop and mobile at any time as well as send a test email.

Important note:

If you haven't sent a test email, you'll see this pop up appear. We're sticklers for always testing your emails before sending or scheduling, and we won't let you carry on and move forward without making sure you send a test since the last edit was made. Trust us, it's important.

5. Review + Send or Schedule your Mailing

When you're all set on the design and content, your next step is to Review the mailing and make sure all the information is correct.

Decide whether to send the email now or schedule it for a later date, hit Finish and you're all set!

And that's it! As always, if you have any questions, please don't hesitate to let us know. You can find all of our great support resources and how to get in touch with us via email, chat or phone on our Support Page.
