Adding aspf and adkim tags to your DMARC TXT Profile

Ensuring that your emails are delivered is our job. Ensuring your emails are delivered and correctly branded is a team effort.

Please Note

It is FeedBlitz's policy not to edit DNS entries on behalf of anyone. You must contact your DNS Provider/Registrar's support if you are hesitant to make these changes yourself. This task is a routine operation that your provider's support team will know how how to do.

FeedBlitz's support team will be happy to help you if you have any questions about exactly what information their support team will need or where to find it.

Setting up your email authentication has a very important order of operations. Do not skip any steps before proceeding to the next. You must test each step and ensure that they are performing correctly using the SPF and DKIM validation tool available within your FeedBlitz account.

  1. Ensure that both DKIM and SPF have been set up correctly and tested.
  2. Create a DMARC profile to ensure receiving email servers know what to do with emails that fail authentication.

Now you are ready to start the process of setting up your adkim and aspf tags. These tags in your DMARC profile ensure your SPF and DKIM entries align with the sending domain within the email header. First, you create another DNS record. This time it will be a CNAME. It must be for the subdomain feedblitz and it will point to mail.feedblitz.com. If your domain URL is widget.com, you would create the subdomain f eedblitz.widget.com and CNAME it to point to mail.feedblitz.com.  Once this DNS entry has been created, you can then edit your DMARC TXT entry and add the following tags before the final quotation mark of your existing DMARC entry:

aspf=r; adkim=r;

Currently, FeedBlitz only supports relaxed adkim and aspf tags.

Do not create strict versions of adkim and aspf tags, this will create failures.

Once this DNS entry has been created, return to the DKIM and SPF validation tool within your FeedBlitz account and test

Using the validator will not only ensure everything has been created correctly, but it will also cause FeedBlitz to recognize the creation of the CNAME entry and enable support for your aspf and adkim tags within your DMARC profile.
