Using Groups as Suppression Lists

Should there come a time when you need to suppress a group of users from receiving a particular mailing, you can easily do so by creating a group with the list of emails that should not receive the mailing and use that to shape your mailing.

Begin by selecting Subscribers > Groups from your Left-hand menu. Then select New Group to upload your file of email addresses.

After naming your Group and giving it a brief description, select File upload to populate your Group and switch include to exclude before hitting Save Group.

Your new Group will appear on your dashboard, and it's ready to use to shape a Single Mailing Campaign.

Now, to use this Group to shape a mailing, we'll begin by starting a new Single Mailing Campaign.

After selecting the mailing list, navigate to the Filter Subscribers drop-down to find your Groups listed at the bottom.

After you select the group to use as your suppression list, it will now show on your Audience tab.

This tab can then be read as a full sentence to show who will receive your Single Mailing Campaign.

Continue through the setup of your mailing, completing the Settings, Content and Template criteria before you Review.

Your Audience will again be listed on your Review before you hit Send / Schedule:

To complete you mailing shaped by the Suppression List Group, simply hit Send / Schedule this Campaign and you're all set!

And that's how to use Groups to create a Suppression Lists. As always, if you have any questions, please don't hesitate to let us know. You can find all of our great support resources and how to get in touch with us via email, chat or phone on our Support Page.
