The VME makes it easy to customize or update your email template at any time. Themes within the VME allow you to completely change the color scheme (and fonts!) of your template in just one click. This knowledge base post walks you through how and where to do it.
Start by opening the template you'd like to work with. It can be the template for your mailing list or a test template you like to use to play around with. You can even use a Quick Start template from the template library to try it out. We'll be using one of the Quick Start templates as an example below.
If you're unfamiliar with the editor, take a few minutes to watch this introductory video which walks you through the basics: Exploring the Visual Mailing Editor
In the editor, make sure you don't have any content blocks selected. You can check for this by seeing if there are any areas or blocks in your template outlined in seafoam green.
Without any content blocks selected, navigate to the Content tab in the right-hand design menu, and you'll see the current theme listed:
Clicking o the current theme listed will open a pop-up showing all available theme options:
As you select different themes, the color scheme and font selections for the template will update. Below you'll see screenshots of both the Plums & Purples theme and Neutrals theme:
At any point when trying out different themes, you can always revert back to the original design by selecting Revert to Initial Design in the pop-up:
If you have made specific edits to individual content blocks, you may need to make further adjustments after selecting a theme. However, you can also choose to override those edits by choosing Reset all blocks to theme settings in the pop-up:
And that's it! That's how quickly and easily you can change the entire look and feel of your email template.
